This build is right for you if:
Off-road capability is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have
You travel into remote terrain where reliability is non-negotiable
Off-grid power, diesel heating, and rugged construction matter to how you travel
You want a complete system, not a collection of individual upgrades
You are based anywhere across the Northwest and want a van that's built to match the terrain

We work across all major van platforms including the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, and Ram Promaster. Each platform has its own strengths for off-road use, and we are happy to walk you through the tradeoffs during your consultation. If you have not purchased a van yet, we can advise on what to look for based on your specific off-road goals.
Off-road adventure van builds from our Fife, Washington shop typically range from $40,000 to $140,000 depending on the scope of the build, the platform, and the systems specified. A complete off-road build with full electrical, suspension, off-grid capability, and custom interior sits at the higher end of that range. We give every client a transparent, detailed quote before any work begins.
Absolutely, and that is by design. Every Scallywagon off-road build is spec'd for year-round use. Espar or Timberline diesel heating handles cold winters at elevation. Electrical systems are sized to manage reduced solar input during overcast seasons. Insulation is chosen for the full climate range. If you plan to use your van year-round, that is exactly the kind of travel we build for.
Build timelines depend on scope, parts lead times, and our current schedule at the Fife, Washington shop. A full off-road adventure build typically takes two to four months from build start to delivery. We give every client a realistic timeline during the planning phase and provide regular updates throughout the build. We would rather set honest expectations upfront than compress a build and compromise the standard.
We build our off-road suspension systems around Agile Off-Road lift kits, which are purpose-designed for high-roof cargo vans and widely trusted among serious overlanders and backcountry travelers. Combined with the right wheel and tire package, our suspension builds give you the ground clearance and capability to handle technical terrain with confidence.
