Step 1: Upgrade Consultation
We start by understanding your current van, your travel habits, and what is not working or what is missing from your current setup. Every consultation is specific to where you are right now and where you want to be.
Step 2: Package Selection and Customization
We walk you through the packages that best fit your goals and customize the components to your specific van and use case. Every package can be adjusted: different battery bank sizing, different suspension specifications, different interior materials. The packages are starting points, not rigid specs.
Step 3: In-House Installation at Our Fife, Washington Shop
Every upgrade is installed entirely in-house at our Fife, WA facility. The same team, the same standards, and the same level of care that go into our complete builds apply to every upgrade package we deliver. No shortcuts because it is not a full build. The Scallywagon standard does not change based on the size of the job.
Step 4: Testing and Walkthrough
Before your upgraded van leaves our Fife, Washington shop, we test every installed system and walk you through everything that was done, how it works, and how to get the most out of it on your next trip.

Absolutely. Our packages are curated starting points, not rigid bundles. During your consultation at our Fife, Washington shop, we work with you to customize the component selection to your specific van, your specific travel goals, and your specific budget. If you want a larger battery bank, a different heater, or additional storage components, we build that into your quote.
The best way to figure that out is a free consultation with our Fife, Washington team. We look at your current van setup, listen to how you travel, and recommend the combination of upgrades that will make the most meaningful difference for you specifically. We do not recommend upgrades you do not need. We recommend what will genuinely improve how your van performs for your life.
We install upgrade packages on all major van platforms including the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, and Ram Promaster. We also work on other platforms on a case-by-case basis. If you are not sure whether your van qualifies, call us at 253-232-6837 and we will talk it through.
Installation timelines depend on the scope of the upgrade. A single-system upgrade like a diesel heater or electrical install typically takes three to seven business days at our Fife, Washington shop. A more comprehensive upgrade package like the Complete Capability Upgrade can take three to six weeks, depending on parts availability and our current schedule. We give every client an honest timeline during the consultation and provide regular updates throughout the installation.
For many of our clients, yes. A lot of people start with a targeted upgrade, see what a properly executed system can do, and come back for more. There is no obligation to go further, but we are always happy to talk through what a complete build would add on top of what you already have. We approach every conversation without pressure and with your actual travel goals in mind.
